By the way

Open post to show that I'm updating, please don't delete my claim in iam thank you muchly. :<

Unless I just missed that, not sure. I just remembered today that the claims check was going to be done around this time and completely forgot to update with an open post. Hm. Since it's hard to tell on the calendar which are the updated days and which aren't. Ahahahah.

Also, sorry about the spam, Friends List, but I cannot find the back date option any where, so.

Sep. 11th, 2008

Oh for fuck's sake...

Almost none of my icons work now. What the hell, man? This is making me really frustrated being here. I use this journal mainly because I get so many icons. But if they're going to keep getting deleted, I may as well just get a paid account + extra user pics at LJ and do that upkeep instead. It's not like I'm hurting so much on money i can't do a yearly fee. D:

Also, making this entry public so I don't lose my claim at iam or so on. Even though you can check the calendar to see when I last posted even if you're not on the friend's list, I just want to make it easier on them. :<

Or something.

Well, anyway. Endy still has the tablet I wanted, so I'm saving up for that currently. I'm about... $55 away from my goal. And it's a really sweet deal, too. It's an Intuos tablet, I forget what size but not small at all, and $200 covers both the tablet and shipping. The size I think it is goes for about $450. Not counting shipping. Now, it's probably an older Intuos, about 1 or 2, but that's still leagues better than what I have (Graphire 1). Now I'll get to see what all this tilt business is about. :3

Back to the icons dilemma, I really, REALLY don't feel like uploading all those icons again. I had like 60 some here! And then to reupload them and redo their keywords, aaaargh.
Don't want to do it.

In other news. I have started reading Pluto! I was surprised to see it on One Manga. It's been interesting so far. Had kinda a slow start for me (I have a short attention span), but it picked up fairly quickly. I probably wouldn't have noticed the speed if I was reading it volume by volume instead of chapter by chapter, but whatever. It's good. :3
Now, some of it gets confusing because I'm not sure if they're referencing Tetsuwan Atom or not with some of these past events they talk about, or if it's singular to Pluto. Like this 39th Central Asia conflict. I think I got that right... And then sometimes a character is mentioned, and you can tell it's supposed to be a total WOMG thing, but since I've never read Tetsuwan Atom, I have no idea who they are, so the impact is completely lost on me. :<
This makes me sad. I'll have to see if these two friends of Dodger's are reading it, though, because they like both Naoki Urasawa AND Tetsuwan Atom. A lot. So they're definitely going to get full experience of the story.

Yes, I'm reading it because Urasawa is involved. :P Normally I wouldn't touch anything associated with Tezuka because I just really don't like his stuff, generally speaking.

I can't wait for this weekend. Some friends and I are going up to the Michigan Renaissance Festival. I'm sure I've mentioned this before... But I'm really excited about it. I usually get super excited about going to Renaissance Festivals, but this time we're going to a different one. It sounds like it's a lot bigger and nicer than the Ohio one, but that remains to be seen. Certainly has a lot of shops, though, going by the website.

Well, I should try to get to bed here, then. I don't need to get up for anything tomorrow, but we are going to be going to the school book store in order for me to get a special eraser and a couple markers. Some of my French Greys are running low...

*sighs* I wish I spelled my user name right when I took it... I just still feel embarrassed about that typo, leaving out the s like that (Should be gesichtslos). Oh well, to err is human, I suppose. But I'm remembering this right now because of the main character of Pluto-- his name is Gesicht. :P

Jul. 10th, 2008

Ahhh trolling

Î'm so out of it right now... I need to go to bed, but I've been too busy scuttling around the FA forums. I found some juicy threads, where people were idiots, and was very amused. The Evolution threads amused me the most...
Someone posted a link that I really liked: http://www.re-discovery.org/gravity_1.html
It's hilarious.

God, I'm hungry, though. that's the problem with staying up late, you get hungry and can't do anything about it. Well, I have some left over chips, but that's about it.

Plans are moving along smoothly for the new D&D game, with Risu having a solidified idea of how to run the campaign, and people getting their characters made. She's still not sure if she wants to let me become a Vampire Lord later, though. it's a much more powerful template than before, so. She'd either have to give all the other characters something really nice to make up for it, or she'd have to downgrade anything I get (treasure-wise) for a level or so to even things out.
I really hope she lets me. I'll just have to wait and see for level 11 to roll around and what she thinks then. Which of course, will take forever. D:

I really ought to be getting to bed. But I can't be arsed to do it. It's 6.35 in the morning, for chrissakes. I should be sleeping, not chatting idling on aim, eating chips, and writing a journal.
Oh, AND wandering around the FA forums. Tsk tsk. I have trouble sleeping when the sun has risen. Which it has done here, of course. SO now I'm going to have trouble sleeping, and I planned on getting up a little early so as to take care of some stuff tomorrow. D: I'm going to be tired tomorrow...

Oh well.
I'm half considering to stay up until Risu gets here, but I know that that#s a bad idea. She'll be angry that I stayed up all night. ^.^;; She doesn't like it when I stay up too late... Worried about my sleep, I'm sure.

Well, I'm going to go and get off line, and either go to bed, or stay up a little longer to read the D&D books. I'm nearly done with the Dungeon Master's Guide, next is the Monster Manual...

Jul. 5th, 2008

D:

I don't want to have to wait until a week from now for FA to be back up. I want it up now. But I know that that's impossible.

I wish it didn't have to go down to start with...

I also wish I could be in a D&D game right now. I think Risu is excited to run a game, too... She's at least shared my sentiments that it's been too long since we gamed.
She's still kicking her self over having gotten rid of all her old gaming supplies before going to college, because she thought she was never going to game again. Until she met me. :P

I've finished reading the PHB in depth, so now it's time for the DMG. Then the MM.

Risu's thinking about running the game in a new version of the world she'd run in before, where each race is divided up into separate nations in imitation of Europe. It has to be a new version of course due to changes they've made in the basic races and so on.

She doesn't want to make it a prequel exactly to the previous game, either, since there'd be issues like, And why weren't the Dragonborn around?
(I figure something could have happened and they were just keeping to themselves on that island of Dragons or something)

Which of course causes some problems for my character and now I'm wondering if I should just make a new character to play instead. :< I don't want to have to force the game to go any way the DM doesn't want it to go just to make it convenient for my self.
But I already wrote my character sheet...

Of course, the way they have things set up now... I'm not sure I should read the DMG, beyond just wanting to have something to do. I never plan on DMing since I'm terrible at it...
(And I do mean terrible)

Right now I'm looking for things to do while I chill a can of soda in the fridge. I never drink soda. But I'm really thirsty right now and there's nothing else to drink. Except the tap water. And the tap water here is disgusting.

Earlier, to get food since Risu had to go in super early to work (9.00/21.00 instead of at least 10.45/22.45), I walked all the way up to the chinese place, only to discover it had been closed all day.. so I walked down to the Subways and found it had just closed an hour before for the holiday, so I walked over to Papa John's and they were still open, so I bought a pizza for dinner. :/ It was very annoying.

Jul. 2nd, 2008

Ugh.

FA is down like usual, but it's been down for a very long time this time. D: I wish I knew what the hell was going on, since as far as I know, this wasn't a scheduled black out. Usually Dragoneer would say something if it were... And I'm not getting the standard "FA will be back shortly page", either, I'm getting a 404 Not Found page. :< I want to look at my page, that's all... D: Check my updates... that sort of thing.

I was up late reading the new D&D books. ^.^; Well, book-- I've only looked at the PHB so far. I'm actually reading it through. :P Right now I'm looking at magical items, which is delicious.

I also found a PDF of the character sheet, so I don't need to fight with the book and try to scan in the one in the back. I'll hook up the printer and print it out later, in hopes of building a character. :3

A little preemptive, I know, but, whatever. I'm excited about it.
I suppose... I should wait until I know for certain that we'll be running a campaign again and all.

We should probably think about food pretty soon... Risu works at 22.45 tonight, so we don't really have much time. (It's 20.12 right now)
Of course, I'm eating a small bag of Munchos right now. We got them for the convention as a on the way snack, but then I didn't eat them, and I didn't eat them at the con, or on the way home from the con, so Now I finally brought them inside to eat at home. I don't think I can eat the whole thing, though... very salty, and I finished off my drink. We need more milk...

I've also got a bag of shrimp chips that I forgot to bring to the convention entirely, so there's a snack for another day.

But yeah. I should get back to reading the PHB. After that I'm going to look at the DMG...

I hope we can get a campaign together. I really do... We've lost a lot of people that we've known to graduation and that sort of thing, but we're still left with the best players of our usual group, so... Hm.
We don't have people like Matt or Jacob any more, which usually caused problems within the group. Matt was too... ehhhhhhh. He was a cheater. A twink. So was Jacob, actually, Jacob being even worse than Matt. Matt also just didn't get along with the other players very well (he even ended up being abandoned by the party a couple of times....)...
Jacob, on the other hand, was a total power gamer and was very adherent to certain progressions within a class-- he got angry with me for not having a very specific spell set when I was playing a sorcerer. Sorry-- I was more concerned with choosing spells my Character would like as opposed to what Dungeon Magazine said I should have. D: (So I didn't have prismatic spray, who gives a shit? Seriously. I liked my spell set a lot better than his suggestions. It actually worked in the game...)
And thank goodness we won#t have to deal with people building characters that exploit every loop hole and advantage in the game so that they steal the spotlight from every one else and make it impossible for the DM to come up with encounters that actually challenge the whole group, instead of just the one character. I mean, sure, I guess there's not really a problem with taking advantage of the system like that, but it makes the game a lot less fun for everyone else. :/ In my opinion and experience.

Jacob probably hates 4th Ed. anyway. :P

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Viking Korin:

No cut for you.

Sketching in painter is fun. XD;;; Maybe I'll finish it tomorrow. Since FA is down and all. Fucking FA. Always being down. D:

Jun. 28th, 2008

Wahhhh

I have spent entirely too much money at this convention. D: I... well, a lot of it was just getting to and into the con, since I covered Risu and my badges, and a lot of gas money. Then there's been food costs... And then there's been my trips to the dealer's room. I got...
A death note bag, a death note cellphone strap, Zero's cloak from Code Geass, a watch for Yuki, Monster book 15, some Ramune, and... I think that's it. Not much, but three of those items were not cheap.

I was sad when counting my money because I didn't have much more than what I left with, and I haven't been doing well at this convention. I still will be able to get that iPod I wanted, I just won't have the same cushion that I was hoping for.

The room service at this hotel is terrible. They haven't serviced our room once. So the trashes are full, we ran out of towels this morning, we're running out of shampoo and conditioner and stuff... :/ Thankfully, I think I'm the only one who's using the stuff since everyone else brought their own from home (I'm too wary of possible leaks to do that).

We ate at a red lobster today (clever, I know) and they gave risu the wrong dish and tried to charge her for it. It was fairly irritating. (the stuff they broght out was quite a bit more expensive than what she ordered). The manager was a complete ass to her about it, too. But since we vouched for her, they agreed to change the bill to what she had ordered. They'd also messed up Mindy's order, but it wasn't as big of a deal since it was just the wrong potatoes.

You know, they really need to set rules on what you can and can't sell in the artist alley. It should be limited to artwork and things made from YOUR OWN ART. Not your old doujinshis, not your old manga, not buttons made using other people's art. Your own shit. For chrissake.
I'm tired of seeing stolen art and garage sales in artist alley.

Later today, since I got all my work done, I'm going to go to the dance for a little bit. :P In my zero cloak. Even if I don't have the whole costume, the cloak is fun to wear, and I shall do so. This one Lelouch cosplayer keeps trying to buy it off me. ^.^;; But I like it a lot and plan on building the rest of the costume, so. And by building I mean finding parts online and buying them because my sewing sucks and I certainly can't build the mask. ^.^;;;

And Brian is playing an extrememly long YouTube video about I don't even know what. O.o

Jun. 25th, 2008

Constant Vigilance

Not really.

I've spent my day packing things for the convention. Anything I don't need when I wake up tomorrow goes in the bag. Or out front with all the other art stuff. I can't fit any of that into my traveling bag, so. Or it's too delicate to be tossed in there, stuff like that.

You'd think I was going to Anthrocon with how much care I'm putting into this. ^.^; But, I'm used to going to conventions with at least one thing missing, so I want to curb that this time and make sure I forget nothing. I made a check list over on LJ, and now the only things I have left are things like my tooth brush and deo. Kinda need those in the morning. ^.^; I also need to change into Contacts today instead of glasses, since there's no way I'm going blind under that friend mask. Not that I can see anything through it anyway, but what little I can see, I want to see as clearly as possible.

When Risu got here this morning, I scared the shit out of her. ^.^;; She didn't expect to see me sitting on the couch, reading. ^.^; She was all up against the wall and asked, weakly, what I was doing awake. :P We went to bed shortly thereafter. But, she had sleeping trouble so she's napping pretty soon here. Actually, so will I... I woke up at my normal time even though I went to bed much later than usual. ^.^; Although tomorrow I want to get up early since I have a package I'm expecting in the morning... Hrm.

I'm just not sure what to do with my self today. Tomorrow's going to be the same way, really. Waiting until 3 for Mindy to arrive, and then taking off a little after that for the convention...
Oh, snap, I need to burn a mix CD for the drive to the con! I have no idea what I want to put on it, though. I figure... I figure this song, along with that one Susumu song... but what else?? D:
Grr... Must think of something!
I really should have gone to sleep yesterday and saved some of that work for today... Oh well. It's much better to be done ahead of schedule than running behind...

I guess I better go work on that Mix CD then...

Ehhhh

So I have almost every thing done for the convention. All I need to do now is transfer the file over so I can print on the backs of my business cards and voila! I'll be done! :D
Then I get to sit and be very nervous and anxious and worry about every last thing being remembered and packed and all that fun stuff for the next day or so.

It's a good thing I started getting ready a week a head of time... Since it took me this long, spacing work out over days, to get everything ready. I almost put the badges off until later today, but was like, No, Snake, do it now. That, and I wanted to stay up to see Risu get home... I decided on that around 4.30, at which time I was shocked to discover it was so late, since the last time I looked at the clock, it was around 2.

I don't have that many badge clips left. D: I can't spare any to make extra prints of badges, so I'm reserving the remaining badges for custom badges. Which means I made nearly 50 new badges today. O.o;;

It's now past 7 am. I probably have to wait until 8 for Risu to show up. I wonder if she'll follow her usual ritual of watching a couple episodes of House this morning? Has she finished season four yet, I wonder?

Well, let me show you what I've worked on tonight and the other day.
Pikshurrrs! )

*rolls*
I wonder how many people will be able to read the Kanji on the card and realise it says, Tetsuo, and how many people will look at it and think it says Tactical Snake.
I thought about changing the signature to Tactical Snake, but it would be a little... complicated. Not to mention the kanji needed were even more nightmarish than the ones I was already using, if i remember correctly. I can't remember my rules for Adjectives very clearly, so I'm not messing with that for a while. That, and my stroke order has and forever will suck balls. I'm still pretty sure I don't write Tetsuo right.

I don't know how Sensei read any of my assignments, seriously. I'm all like, LOL I WRITE UPSIDE DOWN AND BACKWARDS LOL LOL LOL. It's like... I wish I could show you a sample of my mate's handwriting. She writes everything upside down, stroke order wise. You'd think stroke order didn't matter in English, since they make such a big deal out of it in Japanese class, but it actually does matter. Her writing looks weird. She writes the way she does, she says, so that her hand is never blocking her view of what she's writing. O.o She's not left handed or anything, either.
I bet my handwriting in Japanese is like her writing in English. :< Ass backwards...

I remember now, in kindergarten, those damn sheets with the letters and their stroke orders noted on there. Not that I paid much attention to stroke order then, either.
Yeahhhh my hand writing is pretty awful if I don't concentrate on it. I'm a champion of writing in letters and words that I didn't at all intend to write. :/ AND writing things in such a way that no one can read it. ^.^;

Great, now I have hiccups. D: I should just eat a yogurt and go to bed, seriously. But It's 7.30. I can't give up yet!

Jun. 24th, 2008

Electrohead

I hate this. I hate this new sleep schedule. I have to wait for Risu to wake up, which probably won't be until around 10, and I have next to nothing to do in the meanwhile. I would prefer she be awake while I use her computer to do things... I still need to print out badges, and I have to use her computer to do it because mine doesn't have a working copy of Word on it.

I also have a migraine. And I'm hungry again.
Both of these make it difficult to sleep. We don't have any of the migraine killers around any more... Dan used them all and they'Re very expensive... About the only thing I can do is to listen to music, but I don't really feel like doing anything but sleeping some more. I woke up early so that I could go with Risu to buy the parts to repair the car, but then she ended up buying them, so I didn't really need to be there... then we got food and she got her game (FFTA2) and then we came back. And I had a developing migraine at the time. It's still developing, actually. It's not full blown yet. D:

I finally got a hold of Mindy, and let her know what's going on, so we have a time to expect her by huzzah.

And I'm going to go back to bed because my head is just... augh. And I can barely type right. :/

Jun. 19th, 2008

I am unable to be waiting

ASFLJSDÖLFJSDJFDSJF
I haven't the slightest as to what they're saying, but I know what's going on. I can't wait. It's the 20th Century Boys movie, of course! Part one of three!
I hope it's as awesome as I'm hoping it will be. It won't-- I don't doubt that. But I can still hope.

I can't wait for Sadakiyo to show up in the movies. He was my faaaavorite character.
I wonder if there will be more merchandise for 20th CB with the movies coming out...? Of course, probably not, it's a seinin sort of thing, they don't usually make merchandise for that sort of thing. A Friendship party t-shirt would be nice... Though didn't someone already make some of those through Cafe Press, or something? Something to that effect.

And... I mysteriously hurt my shoulder muscles some how just by trying to scratch one of my shoulders. D: I don't like this. Better go away soon.

Yeah, so I just sat down and finished HPGoF just earlier. I should probably go to bed soon... but eh. I'll hop around online for a little while first.
*rolls* August 30th! But how long will it take for it to be subbed...?

Jun. 17th, 2008

Ugh

I've spent most of the day being hungry, surly (most likely because I was hungry) and complaining. Again, probably because I was surly from being hungry.

But I've got food in me now, so hopefully I've calmed down a bit.

Well, the problems were these:
1. I woke up early. I didn't mean to. I just did. I even went to bed later than usual. I intended on waking up around 4, not... 1.30. I'm almost always really hungry soon after waking up, too, but I can't eat until Risu's up because she's my means to getting food. And I won't wake her up earlier than 4.

2. Risu wasn't able to sleep well this morning, so she needed to sleep in. A lot. So I had to wait even longer for food.

3. After getting food, she wanted to nap some more, napping until 9.30. She works at 10.45.

4. I was hungry again after the nap (I napped too for lack of anything better to do), but there wasn't time to get food. Further, almost everything was closed.

So in the end I had to order pizza, which annoyed me to no end, because I don't like pizza very much. I wanted to get it from Papa Johns first, but they wouldn't list their number on their website, so I had to go hunting for fliers around the apartment, and found one for Marco's and another for Cottage Inn. I remembered that Cottage Inn had Artichokes, so I ordered a small from there. I forgot to ask for garlic sauce to dip the crusts into. Oh well.

The cats assaulted me for the pizza of course, although they left me alone after I let them have a good sniff of it. I'm surprised. They usually love pizza and pasta sauces, cheese and bread. Hell, they've even eaten dough nuts. Crazy, stupid cats. Badly trained, though. I did a terrible job... They usually just go and stick their noses right into whatever you're eating and start munching away. D: I can't get them to go away, either. They just give me this look when I try to tell them to go away and then get right back to it. It's very annoying. I usually have to have them picked up and dragged away for them to get the point. :/
The problem is probably that we used to give them scraps. Now they expect to share the food with you...
CATS )
AND NOW THAT I'VE BORED YOU ALL WITH TALKING ABOUT CATS...
Ahahaha... sorry...
I know, I'll just put it behind a cut. ^.^;

I'm actually feeling pretty tired, so I might consider going to bed pretty soon. I don't really have anything else to do, so. I'm nervous that I'll wake up super early, though, and not be able to fall back asleep. But I don't know what else I'm supposed to do to stay up, since I'm getting pretty tired...
I suppose I could watch some more of the streaming German TV. :P i did that for most of the day while I was up. It was fun. I got to see a game type show, a program about marines destroying old mines, and some sort of show where they featured different things going on in the area, I guess. They talked about a ronald mcdonald house opening or something.
Then I tried to watch a different channel a little bit earlier and it was an ad for phone sex. LOL Seriously. I was like, what the hell? She was almost completely naked, too. Had a bra but nooo panties. O.o Late night television, seriously... XD;;;

Jun. 16th, 2008

I'll keep on crying over you

Don't worry about it, it's just a line from a song. ^.^;

Anyway.
It seems that my back is fine today... except for the middle and lower back. They were making noises earlier, which worries me, because when they start acting up, it's usually really bad. And then I have to use my cane to get around. :< Which I hate doing. It's embarrassing. In my opinion. At my age, with a cane, really.
I've taken some pain killers, which should also be anti-immflamatory. Pain killers... they rarely do the job of killing pain for me, but they can do everything else. :<

So anyway. Today we went to a Reenactment type thing up at the local Fort. It was a lot of fun, although we couldn't stay too long since it started getting really hot as it neared midday. They covered quite a few time periods at this one, from Ancient Rome to Vietnam. People were in tents all around the grounds and doing performances or just hanging out. A lot of them had displays of period personal effects and equipment and that sort of thing. We also... saw some soldiers using the cannons, which was very. um. loud. I didn't think they were seriously going to fire them, so I didn't cover my ears... ^.^;;;

I've started getting my will and ability to art back! I drew a picture the other day and colored it today-- not posting it here, it's pretty gory-- and I'm actually pretty happy with it. I suppose there's more I could do with it, but I like it the way it is.
Yeah, one of my old interests to draw was Ero Guro stuffs, which I hadn't drawn in a very long time. :< But I'm back! I have ideas again. :3 I feel more like my old self now, having gone about a week with the medication reduced. In a month, we'll see how things are going.
And I mean old self in a good way, not... in the crazy way.

I've been taking up my languages again, studying my books as best as I can with out a classroom environment (so many activities that require a speaking partner... I have to try doing all the dialogs by my self when I can). I'm not that enthusiastic about studying the Japanese again, though. It just seems kinda eh. I'm not sure what use I'll have for it besides trying to read manga and watch anime, really. Not that I have very many uses for German, either, but German is my top favorite language of all time, so. Even if it doesn't seem to like me very much. :<
I'd also like to try learning Russian some time, but I hear that one is a nightmare. ^.^; Still, I'd like to know the alphabet and how to say at least a few things. :3;; All I have is... A phrase book, a dictionary, and a vocabulary book. ^.^;;;;; I need a text book, but those cost a lot of money. A LOT. D: I hate how expensive text books are... it's absolutely ridiculous.

There's something. I wish I still had all my listening discs for either of my books. :/ Listening exercises are so damned important, and I can't do any of them now. All I have for listening practice in German is like... some anime that's dubbed in German. I have Advent Children in German on my computer, and Die Kickers. It's a children's series about football, dur hur. My god the voices are silly in it. And there's one of the players, this completely useless guy who has the same first name as me and it makes me adfajdsjjsadfljsdfl angry. It's like, you... son of a bitch... I already hate that name, and I don't like hearing it, but now it's got to be on you. D: (Obviously, they localized it)

Well, whatever. I should probably get to bed and see how I feel in the morning. hopefully better... ^.^;

Jun. 13th, 2008

Oops

I keep forgetting to update. I read every day, but I don't update as often as I used to. ^.^;

Not much really going on, though. I got the DVD set of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, though. I did that the other day. Delightfully terrible. We watched the entire first DVD of it, too. XD;;

I'm still working through an art block. We think it's because of the medication I take, so I'm reducing that on my own. I imagine the nurse won't be happy about me doing that, but I swear. I'd really like to draw decently again someday, thanks.

My back's been hurting me a lot lately. My upper back, mostly. It's probably from sitting at the computer too much, but... I've been doing a lot of other stuff besides sitting at the computer, so what gives...? I haven't been in this much pain in quite a long time. :/

At least my coloring hasn't been too affected by the art block. I don't always feel like coloring, no, but when I do, I can. My back is keeping me from finishing anything in a timely manner, though. :/ I've got a picture right now that I'd really like to finish, but I've got five sets of small items to finish coloring in, and I don't know if I'm up to it right now. :< I'll have to work on it tomorrow, probably.

For now, I'm going to forage for food and probably get to sleep early. I tried laying down for a while to help my back, but, it didn't do much. :/

Ahah, ahahahahaha

So it turns out that the air conditioning does work, just you have to turn the temperature down way lower than what you really want to get any results. We're still having it looked at, though. But yes. We turned it on today to test it again. And huzzah.

It's still only warmish in here, though, so a fan is still nice, but yeah. Much better than before.

I also got Trillian to keep from sticking its self to a corner and refusing other programs to go over it. It's on the other monitor now. WHERE IT BELONGS. Not really. But it was something that had been vexing me for quite a while. (One day, I accidentally clicked something on it's top, and it suddenly attached its self to the right hand of my screen and wouldn't let programs go over it, made them resize so that they both fit on the screen. I was very unhappy about it.)

We did hear, however, that a tornado touched down in a nearby town and was set to hit the east side of this town tonight, but I have no idea if it did or not.

We went to a local ice cream shop to get root beer floats, because of the heat, and discovered that it had been partially transformed into a deli. :/ A deli is nice, but not where my ice cream place was. D: It seems like it's run by just these two guys now... So it's probably going to die rather soon.

On the other hand, I noticed when going through the alley on the way to the ice cream place that a new gaming lounge is opening soon. In a really bad location, though. :/ The interior looks neat, though... Hm.

Kurt was on me all day to draw "Liquid Snape", which was apparently Snape's twin brother who refused to wear a shirt. since I wouldn't, he tried to, and then discovered what a terrible idea it was after all. You just can't cross Harry Potter and Metal Gear Solid like that. ^.^;

Ugh, I need to reset the alarm clock because we had a brown out earlier, which of course shut off the computer and reset the clock. I guess I should do that before going to bed, then.

Screwing up my Fun

No more!
I fixed my sewing machine. I looked it up online and just happened across a Q and A that discussed tangled thread, which said that the top thread wasn't done right if that happens. So I checked... And sure enough, the thread had come off the crook thing. I put it right, and... It worked!

So I got that hem done, both shoulders, and now the sleeves are sewn up and hemmed. They're the perfect length too, just to the knuckles. :3

I need to get more green cloth before I can sew the sleeves in, though... It'd be a lot easier to do the lining on the sleeves and THEN add them to the robes. Right now I have the sleeves pinned into the robes so that I know where to sew up the sides. *rolls*
So glad the machine is behaving now... Every time the thread breaks now, I completely rethread the thread into the machine, to prevent the tangling problem. Since it was after a break that the tangling happened, I have to assume then that every time the thread breaks that it's off track.

I'd be out there doing more work on them, but it's way too hot and muggy to be working. Even if it's night, it doesn't make a difference because you're not in the sunlight indoors anyway.

I'm also going to add some cloth into the sides to broaden it a little bit, so that it billows out some on the bottom. I didn't have enough room on the cloth to make it wider to start with, so I need to add it in after the fact. :< I feel really dumb doing it that way, but it should look OK. It's black, so, it's not like it's going to show up all that easily. And I plan to wear a cloak over it, so there.

:<

It's going to show up like a mother fucker, isn't it? Shit. Well, I'll do it anyway, see how it looks, and if it doesn't work, I can take it out and sew it back up.

Ahhhhh tomorrow, tomorrow... Risu's going to be going to the Union to work with Dodger and Benho on Dead Man's paw-- They decided that they'll all three do the art, having added Benho last night to help with page layouts. Benho is a mutual friend of ours that I... obviously don't mention very often because I rarely interact with him.

I will now return to my pastime of looking up and trying "sorting hats" online. :P (The result's always the same but I'm still curious every time. XD;; )

Sewing Machine Blues

So my sewing machine. It's getting old, I know, but it... AsLÖFJSJSALSÖLSJ it keeps bunching thread up under neath the cloth! It's driving me crazy! I tried to put my robes together today, but oh no. The machine will not cooperate.
I need to see if Dodger can look at it... She's fixed my machine before. I just can't remember what she does to it to make it work.

I wish our friend Pilfer were up here (she's moving here during the summer), because I bet she could fix my machine and teach me how to do it in the future. :< Or I could use her machine...

In the mean while, I hope I can use Dodger's machine. On friday. I'll have to make sure I have all my cloth cut out by then... I still need to do the sleeves.

Oh yeah, the problem with that. I need to get more Cloth, since the green cloth wasn't as wide as the Black cloth, and therefore, I couldn't save space like I normally would, and so now there's not enough cloth left to do the lining on two sleeves, just one... and a half. :/ So I need to get about a yard and a half (to be safe) of cloth more just to do one goddamned sleeve. Oh, and the hood. I want to do a hood this time, too.

BUT
I want this done by Colossalcon, and that is at the end of the month. :< Will I have time, with a broken machine and needing to use someone else's, who's also got to finish work before Colossalcon?
Probably not, which makes me upset.

I can't figure out how to take apart the machinery in it, either... I know that if I could do it again, I could check the parts and clean them. I'm pretty sure they need a good dusting... That may be causing all the problem, too, just some dust. :< I think that was what the problem was last time. I think.

I would just like to finish that hem, honestly... All I've got is one shoulder and part... A SMALL PART of one of the hems done. D: That's all I could do before my machine started fucking up.
I have oil for it, too, now that I think about it... But I don't know where to oil it...

I'm going to look the machine up online and see if I can find any thing on taking care of it... Since I lost the most unhelpful instruction booklet some years ago.
Although the search so far is being... fruitless.
Seriously. All I want to know is where to oil the damn thing because I'm sure it needs it, and that could be the problem. I just want to make sure it's up to code first before I do anything else with it.

I will not apologize

Man, I've been on such a Harry Potter kick lately. :D Reading the books again is fun.

I wanted to do a drawing of Buckbeak the other day but I couldn't get the pose right. :<

I need to get the binding fixed on my copy of Prisoner of Azkaban, though. It... kinda fell apart the other day. :< The pages are still altogether, but they're separated from the actual spine of the book. I'm not sure how to explain it... It makes me nervous while reading that pages are going to be the next thing to go. :( Which is, of course, highly undesirable.

I've been in a good mood lately. It seems, anyway. Everything's been going all right, so.
Although it seems like the one friend of mine that's been getting more irritable with me still is. :/ I couldn't tell today if they were just generally like that or being that way with me specifically.

Either way, I've got a migraine and will probably go to bed soon, even though I was up rather late last night (and therefore woke up late today). I probably won't be able to sleep very well, though. :< For one, heh, migraine. For another, well, I'm tired but not sleepy. :/ Mostly, I'm just bored. Well, no, not necessarily bored, but restless. If I were truly bored, I could just go and read, but I'm more restless, so I can't really sit still and do something quietly.
Hell, I keep breaking off from doing this to day dream. ^.^; Or spin my chair around...

Tomorrow, though, I go to the bank! I need to get money out for some bills and shit. Bleah. And perhaps a hair cut. :< It's getting wayyy overgrown, especially in the back.

Grar

I'm pretty sure my drawing pen is never going to arrive in the mail. It probably got lost or something. I hate it when that happens... And since they never sent me tracking information, I'll never know. :<
Or even a confirmation email about ordering. What hell.

Right now I'm also waiting on a package from a friend, which I really hope makes it here because... most of the time, their letters never get here. :/ the postal service, what the fuck.

I'm also waiting on a package from someone on FA. Hopefully those get here soon... Since I've been waiting on the other one for quite some time.

I was really happy a little while ago because a person whose Oekaki page I like to visit put up more Grimmer stuff. :D I wish I knew Japanese so I could actually read what they were saying in the images and image descriptions...

Oh yeah, off Hiatus, I guess.

I haven't really done much. There was some stuff earlier in the week, but I've forgotten it by now.

And I'm really hungry so I'm just going to go look for food now. :

Hiatused

I think I'm going to go on Hiatus for a little while. Not that any of you will really notice, but yeah.
